Here in the USA, baseball and apple pie scream iconic summer! Don’t worry, though; you don’t have to be from the US -or even play baseball- to enjoy the fun ideas in this post! These are sure to help you stop the “summer slide” for your kiddos, refresh your taste buds, and provide some indoor fun to help you beat the heat!
Stop the Learning Slide!
My son has been really into word searches lately, so this fun free printable is perfect for him! Get your word search and answer key printables here, and your kids will be making spelling home runs with this baseball-themed word search! To keep your reading game strong, early reader-type books are great! We have “The Ball Game Easy Reader,” but when I looked for it on Amazon, the cheapest one was 24.44!!!!!! That’s A LOT for a paperback reader, so after some hunting, I think this Berenstain Bears reader would be a great alternative (and much easier on your pocketbook)!

How cute and easy is this fun idea from Look We’re Learning?! It’s perfect for some downtime on a hot summer afternoon!

Of course a legit apple pie recipe is in order here! Check out this easy and delicious looking apple pie recipe from Mommy Evolution! Pregnancy cravings are in full force for me, so I really want some right now with cold vanilla ice cream!

I hope you find these ideas a home run for summer and enjoy the time spent with your children! This is what I plan to do, and being due with baby number three at the end of the month, I am one tired momma, so keeping things simple for me, yet fun for my kids is really my goal for this summer!
