In observance of National S’mores Day, I am sharing my Golden S’mores Bars recipe with you!
I know that lots of people say they love s’mores, but I LOVE S’MORES! I was so bummed this summer when Dairy Queen didn’t bring back their S’mores Blizzard (what gives, DQ?), and I am always the first to break out the marshmallows and chocolate around the campfire! Honestly, though, who needs a real campfire? The kiddos and I love to set up their tent in the living room at all times of year and pretend to roast marshmallows. I fire up my baking torch to toast a few marshmallows, then I toss them in a bowl and grab some skewers, and we sit around our imaginary campfire roasting them! Eccentric? Maybe. Delicious? Definitely.
The natural evolution of my s’mores addiction was to put together a treat that we could easily enjoy without the need for a campfire (or baking torch)! Thus, this easy s’mores bar recipe was born. Of course, my family loves these s’mores treats, but they are also a HUGE hit whenever I serve them to friends and co-workers! These no-bake s’mores bars are also a perfect take-along to potlucks; the kids and adults enjoy them alike and I go home with an empty pan (which is good, right?), save for the ones I made for myself and left at home! 🙂
Golden S’mores Bars
For this recipe, you will need:
8 cups or one 12oz box of Golden Grahams
1 (10oz) bag of marshmallows
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup chocolate chunks
Before you begin: pop the chocolates in the freezer while you work so they can keep a nice shape when added to the warm mixture!
Place the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 10 -15 seconds. Add in the marshmallow and heat for 30 second intervals, stirring in-between until marshmallows are just melted.
Stir in the Golden Grahams until combined and gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick baking spray and place the mixture into the pan (I like to spray a little nonstick spray on a piece of wax paper and use it to press the bars out evenly)! Let bars set a few minutes before cutting and enjoy!
