I love making and giving handmade treats for every holiday, and Saint Patrick’s Day is near the top of my list when it comes to fun holidays that need to be celebrated! I found some cute little brown paper bags in my craft room the other day, and in my usual fashion, an idea was born: End of the Rainbow Treat Bags! To fill them, I thought of this awesome Pot o’ Gold popcorn recipe I had seen over at Bake at 350 -a site I really enjoy. My son and I went to work, and in no time at all we had these bright and beautiful little treats! He loved helping and, of course, eating any casualties along the way. This is such a fun and easy little project, perfect for any skill level, and tasty too!
Saint Patrick’s Day “End of the Rainbow” Treat Bags
For this project you will need only a few items!
6 Brown paper sacks or gold gift bags
Rainbow Twizzlers (or your favorite rainbow colored licorice)
Popcorn supplies (See the ingredient list at Bake at 350)
Make the Pot o’ Gold popcorn from Bake at 350 first so it can dry while you assemble your treat bags. While you wait:
- Fold over the top of each bag twice (to make a little pot)
- Stand the licorice up in rainbow color order inside the bag
- Fill with your pot with gold popcorn or your treat of choice
Now you have a treat fit for all the leprechauns you love – small or big!
These are too cute, my kids would have a blast making these!
Thank you! My kiddos definitely enjoyed eating them lol, so I bet yours will too! 🙂
