I feel like the best traditions are often the simple ones that can be managed at any stage of life and include the whole family, so these Easter egg treats have become a family tradition in our home! We always have fun making them together, and -of course- enjoying them immediately! If you have been searching for an easy yet eye-catching treat to get you and your family in the Easter mood, this one’s for you!
Easter Egg Treats
For this recipe, you will need:
Six cups crispy rice cereal
Ten-ounce bag large marshmallows
Three tablespoons butter
Non-stick cooking spray
M&Ms and/or any sprinkles you desire
3-4 plastic Easter eggs
First, melt the butter and marshmallows over medium low heat stirring often (spray your mixing spoon with nonstick spray to reduce buildup on the spoon). Once melted, remove from heat and stir in cereal.
Let mixture cool for a couple of minutes and spray the plastic eggs with nonstick spray. Fill the eggs with cereal mixture and press closed, then open and remove your Rice Krispie egg! Repeat until you have used all the mix.
Now you are ready to decorate! Melt the candy melts one at a time in the microwave at half power in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between. Dip, drizzle, and sprinkle to your heart’s desire and enjoy! If you manage to have enough left to store, be sure to cover them loosely with plastic wrap to keep them soft!
