For my sweet daughter’s second birthday, I decided to take her love of Minnie Mouse to a whole new level! I did a little searching and found that it’s all about the bow, and that is how “Minnie’s Boutique Party” began! For me, the perfect birthday party includes: a fun theme -something the birthday person loves, games or crafts you can get your guests involved in, great décor that doesn’t cost a fortune, and last -but never least- delicious food!
Birthdays are a big deal in this house, and I love to go all out, so this will be a multi-part series: if I crammed everything into one post, it would be information overload for all of us! I hope you enjoy the ideas as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Minnie Mouse Party Hats
First things first: let’s get our ears on! For this project, you will need:
Ribbon (I used 5/8″ wide ribbon)
Start by cutting out twice as many 3 3/4″ wide black circles as you have party hats.
Fold back about a 5/8″ flap on each circle.
Glue a vertical line right above the string on each side of the hat and attach the short flap on each circle.
Now you have Mickey party hats! I left some just like this for all of the little guys who would be in attendance, then I took the rest of the hats one step further. Using the ribbon, tie little bows (mine were about two inches wide when complete), then glue them to the front of each hat.
Enjoy your new ears, and I will see you soon for Part 2!
