In this post, we will learn how to make a Minnie Mouse foam head: the perfect centerpiece for your Minnie Mouse “Bow-tique!”
Minnie Mouse Foam Head
For this project, you will need:
Black spray paint
2 foam flat rounds
3 Large popsicle sticks or tongue depressors
Pink polka dot wire ribbon
A small vase or a cup
Hot glue gun
First, spray paint the foam ball and rounds (I like to do this outside). Try to keep a smooth, constant motion: spraying in one place for too long may start to dissolve the foam! Let dry for at least 2 hours. Now you are ready for the fun part!
Fill the vases with tissue paper, insert a popsicle stick into the ball (this will be the bottom, so you may want to choose the least desirable area of the ball for this). Nestle the stick in into your vase until it feels steady.
Time to add Minnie’s ears! Insert one popsicle stick into the side of each circle round, then position each ear over the head and push the popsicle stick’s into the top of your ball.
Cut a 17-inch piece of ribbon and lay it out flat, folding one end into the center as shown.
Now fold the other end over (this should be longer than the last fold) and bend the ribbon back to the center, then wrap around to form a bow as shown. Lastly, glue the end in place.
It’s time to make Minnie “Bow-tiful!” Attach the bow on the front side between her ears with hot glue, and you are all done!
