Have you noticed that I am a bit obsessed with ladybugs?! March marks Celebrating With The Bug’s first birthday, and is also home to the first day of spring! This makes it a perfect month to celebrate – ladybug style! I originally came up with the idea for ladybug balloons just in time for my little lady’s first birthday! She happens to be a March baby (one more reason for me to celebrate this month) and loves to look back on pictures of her ladybug party!
I can hardly believe how fast the time has flown, and I am so grateful to those of you who have followed me in my first year of blogging! Join me in celebrating this milestone and learn how the kids and I decorated the house to celebrate!
For this project, you will need:
Green poster board
Clear tape or double-sided tape
Painter’s tape for hanging (Some other tapes can leave serious residue on your walls and ceiling).
Cut out leaf shapes from the poster board (I was able to get three leaves out of one piece) and inflate your balloons to desired ladybug size.
Cut out black circles for spots and larger semicircles for heads.
Affix a head and spots to each balloon, then tape each ladybug to a leaf!
You are now ready to display your ladybug ballons! For my daughter’s first birthday, I taped them to the ceiling, and it turned out super-cute!
Thank you again for celebrating with me, and especially to those who have been here since the beginning! This really is a labor of love for me, and I am determined to take Celebrating With The Bug to new heights this year! If you are committed to making the most out of your days, and to finding new ways to spend more time celebrating, will you do me a favor? Take a moment right now and share one of your favorite CWTB posts with your friends; it means the world to me!
