These cute Hello Kitty Balloons are easy to make and are sure to please any cat lover or kiddo! Cat stuff seems to be in vogue lately, and my little lady is no exception to the cat-loving rule! She adores cats, so “Hello Kitty” was the perfect fit for her birthday party this year! As you’ve no doubt gathered by now, I really try to keep my party décor costs low. I can’t stand spending a bunch of money on paper decorations that just land in the trash after the party! You’ve probably also noticed that one of my favorite ways to liven up a party is to be creative with inexpensive, non-helium balloons!
Seriously, kids LOVE balloons; they attract kids like coffee and chocolate attract me! That’s just one more reason why fun balloon art is a great choice for my children’s birthday parties! Whether you’re looking for DIY party balloon décor or a quick craft the kids will love to make (and play with), these Hello Kitty balloons are just what you need!
Hello Kitty Balloons
For this DIY, you will need:
White cardstock or poster board
Inflate the balloons to desired size. Cut out two white triangle ears for each balloon.
Make a bow out of ribbon for each balloon (we left a few kitties bowless to make “boy kitties,” too).
Draw on eyes, a nose, and whiskers with a black marker.
Bend about a half inch of the paper at the base of each triangle to make a flap, and attach ears to the balloons using tape. Stick on the bow using tape, and your Hello Kitty is ready to party!
When you make your own balloon creations, I would love to see them! Be sure to post with the hashtag #celebrationbug on Instagram!
