I am totally letting you in on one of my most treasured baking tips with this super easy-to-make chocolate sauce! I get lots of compliments on it, and friends often ask how I get it so smooth without burning the chocolate! Burnt chocolate might just be one of the most disappointing things ever, so you might be surprised to learn we are going to make our chocolate sauce using the microwave!
To be honest, I am a bit of a chocolate snob (there, I admitted it, I’m snob, lol) and when it comes to chocolate, it has to be the real thing! Store-bought chocolate sauce just isn’t chocolate to me, and semi-sweet or dark chocolate are my all-time favorites! All right, enough about me: what you really what to know is how to melt chocolate in the microwave without burning it, RIGHT?!
AMAZING Microwave Chocolate Sauce
For this recipe, you will need:
½ Cup mini chocolate chips (regular will work, too, but the mini ones melt better)
3 to 4 Tablespoons non-dairy coffee creamer of your choice (I like vanilla or sweet cream)
Put ingredients in a glass measuring cup and heat at ½ power for 30 seconds in the microwave (chips will still be slightly chunky). If you need more time, heat for 5-second intervals, remembering that CHOCOLATE BURNS QUICK!
Stir until smooth and top your favorite dessert!
Some of my favorite ways to enjoy this chocolate sauce are as toppings for ice cream, cream puffs, angel food cake, and flourless chocolate cake!
