I am super-excited to share these DIY glitter geodes with you! This one is special to me because it brings together two of my family’s favorite things: glitter and the great outdoors! We love hiking as a family, and we often stop along the trail to admire unique rocks. My husband and I encourage our kids to leave nature where we find it so that others can enjoy it, too, even though some of it is tempting to bring home. Snapping pictures is a great way for us to remember all the awesome things we see, like this pretty crystal formation we found!
It’s been a loooong winter, and the kids and I are itching to get back on the trail. Photos are wonderful, but with the sensations of breeze on our faces and dirt under our feet seeming so far away, it was time to get physical! We chose to do that by creating our own “nature” with these sparkling DIY geodes. Follow along, and we will guide you through the adventure! 🙂

Shape the clay into little rocks by using the spoon as a mold and indenting the top with your thumbs.
Use the other end of the spoon to poke indentations into the center of each rock, then bake according to package directions.
Once the rocks have cooled (this won’t take long), use the paint brush to spread a thin coat of glue in the center.
Next, sprinkle with a thick layer of glitter. Give it a little shake, then let it dry! Easy, right?
If you think this project rocks (pun totally intended), share it with your friends! These rocks can’t cry out on their own! 🙂
