There are a few different iterations of Beauty and the Beast cupcakes out there, but I haven’t seen too many that highlight the second title character. I really wanted to come up with something unique and special to enjoy with my son, and from that desire these fun and furry little beasts were born, along with easy-to-make fruit leather roll up roses (which I promise you will be able to create, too)! We had so much fun making these together; creating these cupcakes and I hope you enjoy the magic of time spent Baking with family as much as we do!
We are SO excited for the DVD release of the live action Beauty and the Beast! Somehow (probably thanks to its short theatrical run (less than three months from theater to home video- whaaaaat? Welcome to 2017, I guess?), we never made it to the theater, even though my son and I have been stoked to see it since the first teaser trailer was released! We hope to have a family movie night upon release, and these cupcakes will melt the heart of any beast or beauty -big or small!
Beauty and the Beast Cupcakes
For these cupcakes, you will need:
Cupcakes of your choice (I used chocolate 🙂 )
Chocolate frosting (I used canned whipped frosting)
Yellow frosting (I used regular canned lemon frosting – DO NOT USE WHIPPED)
1 cup coconut flakes
1 tbsp coco powder
Chocolate bar (such as a Hershey Bar)
White chocolate bar
Red fruit roll ups
To make the Beast cupcakes:
Start by frosting your cupcakes with chocolate frosting, mix the coconut and coco powder in a bowl, and dip the frosted cupcakes into the coconut -patting as needed- to cover.
Break the chocolate into larger shards for the horns and smaller shards for the nose and teeth.
Press the horns, eyes, nose, and teeth into each cupcake and ta-dah!
To make the rose cupcakes:
Place the yellow frosting in a glass measuring cup and microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until the frosting resembles lightly whipped cream.
Dip the cupcakes in the melted frosting -gently tilting to cover- and set aside.
Unroll the fruit roll ups and cut a wavy line down the center, then begin rolling each strip up from one end. About halfway though rolling, start to pinch the base of the flower together and gently fluff the petals.
Place a rose on each yellow cupcake and let the magic bloom!
We hope your Beauty and the Beast cupcake experience is magical! Please share the magic with others through social media by using any of the buttons below!
